Exploring educational options: UH Hilo

At the monthly meeting of the Kaneohe Neighborhood Board,
Thursday July 17th 7PM WCC Hale Akoakoa, you will have a chance
to learn more about UH Hilo. More and more, students who would
like to go away for college, but not too far away, are finding
that UH Hilo provides an excellent balance between independence
and continued connection with home. Programs in the Natural
Sciences, Hawaiian Studies, as well as Pharmacy and Nursing are
also drawing O’ahu students to UH Hilo.

With the intention of extending support services to families and
students of O’ahu, UH Hilo has positioned an admissions officer
in Honolulu, full time.

Devoted to serving students and families on O’ahu, Maile Sing is
the latest addition to the Department of Admissions, and she
will be attending the next monthly meeting to introduce herself
and briefly offer a few examples of what UH Hilo has to offer.
Slated as the “Admissions Officer for Native Hawaiians”, Maile
is also devoted to ensuring that Native Hawaiian students get
connected with programs designed to provide cultural and
academic support.

If you would like to contact Maile Sing directly, she can be
reached via email at msing@hawaii.edu, as well as through her
office line at 956 4564.
